The Process

1. Design & planning
An architect is needed if your project needs a design or planning permission from your local authority. The architect will work with you to achieve your design goals, gain planning approvals and work up the initial designs to a construction-ready level. We can recommend several highly skilled architects who we regularly work with but are equally amenable to working with an architect of your choice.

2. Structural engineering

If your project needs any structural work, such building foundations or removing walls, you will need to instruct a structural engineer. They will produce drawings and calculations to ensure that the building works are structurally sound and comply with legislation. We have a great structural engineer we work with but we are also happy to work with a structural engineer of your choosing if preferred.

3. Paperwork

Once we have the calculations we will be able to write a detailed estimate, containing fixed construction and installation costs, and any other expenses. We will then confirm a start date and provide a client cost spreadsheet, which details all the phase payments and additional costs, this enables us to keep track of the process with the aim of keeping within the budget. We will also put together a  process document highlighting what you can expect throughout the project in order to manage your expectations and keep you fully informed.
