EXTENSION TYPES

Side Return Extensions

Side return extensions enable people to maximise their home’s space and value by using the space to the side of their property.

A side return extension takes up what is often considered to be a wasted space to the side of a property and is the perfect choice for those not wishing to reduce their garden.

Side return extensions run along the length of the existing room, meaning if you incorporate skylights and bi-folding doors into the design you can flood the space with natural light.

It can make a big difference to a property’s space and value.

Wrap-Around Extensions

Wrap-around extensions incorporate both a rear extension and a side return extension to create an L-shaped space that wraps around your home, which creates additional space on two sides.

It is the perfect option for those that want an open plan kitchen and living/ dining area and there may be space for an island or breakfast bar.

As a wrap around extension creates lots of new space, you may be able to add further rooms, such as a downstairs bathroom or utility room.

You can make sure that your extension is filled with natural light by investing in skylights, large bi-fold doors, and sun tunnels.

Rear extensions

Rear extensions allow a property to be extended at the rear, creating more space at the back of the house and opening out on to the garden.

A rear extension is usually opted for where there is no option for a side return extension and creates space for a larger, open plan kitchen / living area perfect for entertaining friends and family time.

Double Storey Extensions

Double storey extensions can be added to terrace, semi-detached and detached homes and create twice the amount of space as other types of extensions.

A two storey extension creates a large amount of extra space (regardless of whether it is side return, rear or wrap-around extension) as it runs across two floors, creating an increase in living space and the opportunity to create an additional room upstairs, which could be used as a bedroom, study or en suite for a master bedroom

Double Storey Garage Extension

A Double storey garage extension is also an option for creating space on two levels at the side of a property.

A great option for ensuring all of your property’s space is used wisely, maximising your homes dimensions, creating bigger living spaces and new rooms.
